An emission factor is the amount of greenhouse gas released per kilo (or other unit) of an ingredient or material, for example kilos of CO2e per kilo of cocoa beans from Ghana. Multiply it by how much you buy and you get its emissions.
That is what the Emissions predictor is for. You enter the ingredient or material and where it comes from, and it estimates the emission factor from similar ones, the country and how it is made. Every estimate comes with a confidence score.
